Total PARCO Unveils New Initiatives in Service Station, Aimed at Reducing Emissions and Improving Energy Efficiencies

Introduction of Euro-5 standard fuels, installation of roof top solar panel and LED lighting, and automatic car wash

Islamabad, October 19, 2020: In an effort to improve energy conservation and underscore its commitment to ‘Clean & Green Pakistan’ initiative, Total PARCO Pakistan Ltd unveiled new initiatives in its service station in Islamabad today which is aimed at further reducing emissions and improving energy efficiencies.
The ceremony was graced by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Petroleum Mr. Nadeem Babar and Secretary Petroleum Mr. Mian Asad Hayuddin in the presence of Total PARCO’s management executives.

The service station features Euro-5 standard fuels, roof top solar panels including solar product offering, and automatic car wash and ‘Clean & Fresh’ washrooms. . Other initiatives included installation of oil-water separators, oil waste disposal and LED lighting .

Lauding Total Parco for the introduction of new initiatives to reduce emissions and improve energy efficiencies in its service station in Islamabad, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Petroleum Division, Mr. Nadeem Babar appreciated Total PARCO’s initiative: “Total PARCO’s initiative to introduce car wash facility with water conservation features, solarization of the station & double-walled underground fuel storage tank, in addition to the availability of Euro 5 standard fuels are some of noteworthy breakthroughs in energy conservation and environmental protection projects. Studies have shown that adverse impact of climate change has accelerated in our country. Pakistan has jumped from 8th to 5th position among the most vulnerable countries to face climate change from 2018 to 2020. To mitigate the crippling effect of climate change, our policies will support the renewable energy strategies to foster a green and eco-friendly culture in the country. GoP will help the oil industry to implement progressive green technologies in line with our roadmap of leading innovations in the fuel sector. Once such features are employed across the network of service stations nationwide, the effect is bound to be immense in terms of health, safety and environmental sustainability of the country.”

We will be building more of such service stations and in collaboration with our dealers, rooftop solar panels have been installed in over 80 of our service stations across the country. Our supply chain and logistics have been carefully reviewed including ensuring our transporters’ fleets are in compliance with Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) standards to reduce CO2 emissions.
